Edward born circa 1835 in Sulham, Berkshire & painter in 1851 census & son of Edward (born circa 1812 Tilehurst) & Eliza (born circa 1815 in Reading). By the 1871 census Sarah & Edward have moved to Tilehurst & Edward is an agricultural labourer. They continued to live in Tilehurst until the 1901 census. In the 1881 census there is a step daughter Ada Deacon (born 1873 in Pangbourne) living with them, although in the 1891 census now described as a daughter. Edward continued as an agricultural labourer until the 1891 census. However in both 1881 & 1901 he is (also) a publican or beer house keeper. Sarah was also described as a publican in 1881. Sarah reported the death of her father Richard on 24 June 1875.
